Michelle Ostermann

RPMI Railpen

Michelle Ostermann was appointed Chief Fiduciary Officer for investments at RPMI Railpen in January 2019. There, she is responsible for defining high-level investment strategy and risk appetite for the railways pension schemes, including the range of internally managed pooled funds. She is also responsible for the fund’s Sustainable Ownership strategy and client relationship management.

Ms. Ostermann also serves as Vice Chair of the Pension Investment Association of Canada (PIAC) board of directors.

Prior to RPMI Railpen, Ms. Ostermann held the roles of SVP, Consulting and Client Services and SVP, Investment Risk, Strategy and Research at British Columbia Investment Management (bcIMC). She has also held senior positions in portfolio solutions and business development at Manulife and Sun Life Global Investments. She began her career as an actuarial analyst at London Life Insurance and Great West Lifeco.

Ms. Ostermannholds a Bachelor of Science in Economics from the University of Victoria and a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.
